A three-day training program on adolescent health, held from August 6th to 8th, 2024, in Narkeldanga, has successfully concluded its first batch. Organized in collaboration with the CINI Chetna Resource Centre, the training was designed for youth aged 14-18, with a goal to reach 900 adolescents. On the first day, each participant received a comprehensive training kit, while on the final day, they were awarded a training certificate along with a health kit containing essential items for maintaining health and hygiene.
The program kicked off with an engaging activity where participants identified animal and bird sounds, setting a lively tone for the sessions ahead. The training included a card statement game and in-depth discussions on crucial topics such as health, personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, nutrition, and malnutrition. Digital visualizations on nutrition and personal hygiene enriched the learning experience, and sessions also delved into the physical and mental changes that occur during adolescence. Participants actively engaged in drawing activities to promote awareness of physical and mental well-being.
Each day began with the National Anthem, followed by a case study game that involved role-playing, making the learning process interactive and relatable. The training also tackled critical issues like suicide prevention and included comprehensive discussions on adolescents’ rights. These topics are vital for raising awareness and promoting understanding of the sensitive challenges faced during adolescence.
