To enhance the capacity of its field team and ensure effective implementation of project activities, the VOICE Project organised a two-day residential training programme for its field staff on 13–14 July 2026 at Purba Sreedharpur. The training was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of gender concepts while equipping them with the practical skills required for community engagement, digital communication, and field-based data collection.
The programme adopted a participatory learning approach, encouraging active involvement through discussions, group activities, presentations, and practical exercises. The sessions focused on building a deeper understanding of gender, gender roles, and gender stereotypes, enabling participants to critically examine social norms and their influence on the lives of women and girls. Interactive methodologies such as body mapping, daily activity chart exercises, group discussions, and presentations helped participants explore gender-related issues from both personal and community perspectives.
Recognising the importance of digital literacy in programme implementation, the training also included a hands-on session on Google Meet. Participants learned how to join online meetings, manage audio and video settings, and use essential platform features, preparing them for virtual coordination and communication with project teams and stakeholders.
A key component of the training was the mock baseline survey exercise, where participants practiced interviewing community women in a simulated setting. The exercise provided practical experience in conducting surveys, recording responses accurately, and applying ethical communication techniques while interacting with respondents. The session helped reinforce the importance of respectful engagement, confidentiality, and effective data collection in community-based programmes.
The two-day training significantly enhanced the participants’ understanding of gender issues while strengthening their facilitation, communication, and digital skills. It also improved their confidence in conducting baseline surveys and implementing community-level activities under the VOICE Project.
By investing in the continuous capacity building of its field staff, the VOICE Project aims to ensure high-quality programme implementation and meaningful community engagement. The training has equipped the team with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to effectively support women and communities, laying a strong foundation for the successful implementation of project activities in the months ahead.
