The project aims to create safe, inclusive, and supportive school environments by equipping adolescent girls and boys with knowledge about their rights, consent, respectful relationships, and safeguarding mechanisms. At the same time, it seeks to strengthen the responsiveness of government schools and community-based safeguarding institutions through improved coordination, stakeholder engagement, and collective action. This project adopts an extra-curricular based engagement approach, working with 200 adolescent girls and 150 adolescent boys.

01. Why the project is?
- The West Bengal state police registered 34,344 cases in 2023. Data also shows 1,110 rape cases (27 were minors) and highlights that the perpetrator in several cases was known to the victim.
- Low awareness of rights and risks leaves adolescents vulnerable to violence, abuse, early marriage, and exploitation Harmful gender norms and silence discourage reporting and shared responsibility, especially among boys.
- Weak connections to safeguarding systems mean adolescents and families do not know how or where to seek help

- Conducts regular interactive sessions with students using sports, games, drama, storytelling, and guided dialogue
- Implemented through three connected phases; 1. Foundation and alignment, 2. Capacity building and adolescent engagement, 3. Consolidation and system strengthening
- Adolescents engaged as active co-creators of learning
- Girls and boys participate together to promote mutual respect
- Implements activities guided by learning objectives rather than gender, creating inclusive spaces for dialogue
- Connects adolescents with Gram Panchayat, VLCPC, ASHA workers, and Police representatives

This project in taking place in 3 government schools of Jhargram District, West Bengal. The names of the schools are Banphikuria High School, Manikpara High School & Ranarani High School.
