To celebrate International Yoga Day 2026, Mukti Kishalaya Support Schools (MKSS) and Mukti Support Schools (MSS) organized yoga practice sessions across their centres, encouraging children to adopt healthy habits and mindful living. As part of the initiative, a 14-day Yoga Practice Programme was conducted from 8th to 21st June across all 76 MSS centres, while special yoga sessions were also organized at several MKSS centres, including Jharmatiali, Changmari, Madhabpur, Bodhukulla, Deaulbari-I, Deaulbari-II, Paschim Gabtala, Amratala, Khansaheb Abad, and Sahara Alpana Kishaloy Centre in Egra.
Throughout the programme, students enthusiastically participated in simple yoga postures, stretching exercises, breathing techniques, mindfulness activities, and relaxation practices. Daily sessions helped children improve concentration, physical fitness, emotional well-being, self-discipline, and self-confidence while promoting positive values such as teamwork, empathy, and respect for nature.
Students practised activities such as deep breathing, Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Butterfly Pose, Bhramari breathing, eye relaxation exercises, and guided silent reflection. Teachers and volunteers actively supported the sessions, making them enjoyable and accessible for all participants.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from children across rural and remote communities, including the Sundarbans and other parts of West Bengal. By integrating yoga into the learning experience, Mukti continues to promote holistic education that nurtures both the body and mind, helping children develop healthy habits and a positive outlook towards life.
