A two-day workshop was organized for Shahoshini volunteers on 22nd and 23rd May 2026 at Purba Sreedharpur with the objective of strengthening their understanding of risk analysis and practical approaches to addressing issues affecting women and girls in their communities.
The sessions focused on key social issues, including freedom of mobility for women and girls, the role of mothers in decision-making related to children’s health, child elopement, and women’s participation in household financial decisions. Participants actively engaged in group discussions, practical exercises, and role-play activities that encouraged reflection on real-life community challenges and possible solutions.
During the workshop, the Problem Tree Analysis tool was revisited and applied to different case scenarios, helping participants identify root causes of social issues and develop practical intervention strategies. Hub-wise review sessions were also conducted, allowing Shahoshinis to share field experiences, discuss challenges faced during community meetings, and exchange successful practices from their respective areas.
An important outcome of the initiative was the identification of approximately 126 potential women leaders through village-level meetings conducted during the period. The workshop concluded with a mock counselling session where participants practiced counselling techniques through role-play exercises, strengthening their communication, empathy, listening, and problem-solving skills.
The workshop contributed to enhancing the confidence, leadership abilities, and community engagement capacities of Shahoshini volunteers, enabling them to play a more effective role in supporting women and girls at the grassroots level.
