Mukti, under its SWAS 2.0 (Swavalamban Accelerator in Sundarbans) initiative supported by SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India), successfully organized a 10-day Costume Jewellery Making Training program this August across two locations in the Sundarbans.
The first training was held at Raidighi from 8th–17th August 2025, while the second took place at Chhoto Banashyamnagar from 9th–18th August 2025. Each program engaged 25 enthusiastic women participants, providing them with hands-on skills in jewellery design, crafting, and finishing techniques.
The training was designed to enable women from rural communities to explore costume jewellery making as an alternative livelihood option. Beyond skill development, participants also learned about market linkages and small enterprise opportunities, laying the foundation for self-reliance and economic independence.
Through SWAS 2.0, Mukti continues to support rural women in the Sundarbans by equipping them with sustainable livelihood skills and entrepreneurial opportunities. Initiatives like these not only strengthen household incomes but also promote confidence, creativity, and empowerment among women, contributing to long-term community resilience.
