The 2025 International Kolkata Book Fair, held from January 28th to February 9th at Boimela Prangan, was not only a celebration of literature but also a platform for raising awareness about sustainable agricultural practices. Mukti, a proud member of the Susthayee Krishi Poribar collective, played an active role in this year’s event, promoting the importance of eco-friendly farming.
Susthayee Krishi Poribar’s stall offered visitors the chance to learn directly from farmers about the benefits of organic farming. By engaging with those who practice sustainable agriculture, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how these methods positively impact the environment, local economies, and food security.
Mukti Fresh showcased a wide range of organic products, including fruits, vegetables, and grains grown without harmful chemicals. Through this display, Mukti encouraged the public to embrace organic produce, not only for its health benefits but also for the positive impact it has on the environment.
The event was further elevated by the visit of Shri Purnendu Basu, the former Agriculture Minister of West Bengal, who attended the stall and engaged with the farmers. His support for sustainable farming echoed the broader goals of Mukti and the Susthayee Krishi Poribar collective in advocating for agricultural reforms that prioritize environmental health and farmer welfare.
Mukti’s participation in the Book Fair highlighted the organization’s ongoing commitment to promoting organic farming, supporting local communities, and raising awareness about the long-term benefits of sustainable agriculture. Through such events, Mukti continues to inspire positive change in the way we grow, consume, and think about food.
