On 10th October 2025, the Mukti City Office observed World Mental Health Day by organizing an insightful virtual session dedicated to exploring the complexities of mental well-being in today’s fast-paced world. The session was facilitated by Ms. Saswati Mukherjee, who led participants through a thoughtful journey of understanding stress, imbalance, and the art of coping effectively.
Staff members from the City Office along with some representatives from Mukti’s education vertical actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions that shed light on the often-overlooked dimensions of mental health.
Ms. Mukherjee began by decoding the concept of “Toxic Stress” through the Four C’s —Cumulative, Chronic, Catastrophic, and Control, explaining how prolonged exposure to stressors can disrupt emotional balance and overall well-being.
She then guided participants to reflect on why life often feels unbalanced, citing factors such as age, gender, personality, time constraints, overemphasis on independence, reliance on unhealthy pleasures, technology dependency, and the “get it now” syndrome that shapes modern lifestyles.
Moving from awareness to action, the facilitator shared Effective Coping Strategies, encouraging participants to communicate openly, take one step at a time, stay optimistic, seek professional help when needed, and focus on solutions rather than emotional reactions. She reminded everyone that maintaining mental health requires patience, self-awareness, and perspective.
The discussion further delved into the empowering concept of “Being the Master of Your Own Destiny,” emphasizing the importance of cultivating a sense of personal control, being an active player in life rather than a passive spectator.
Concluding the session, Ms. Mukherjee introduced participants to basic skills for keeping balance: managing time effectively, nurturing self-esteem, solving problems proactively, maintaining perspective, and learning to relax.
The session ended on a positive note, reinforcing that mental health is not merely the absence of illness, but the presence of resilience, self-care, and mindful choices. Mukti’s initiative underlines its continued commitment to fostering a supportive, healthy, and empathetic workplace, where emotional well-being stands at par with professional growth.
