MUKTI SURYA Centre, Raidighi, has been successfully conducting different vocational training programs (EMT, ELECTRICAL AND TALLY GST ) for rural youth with the objective of skill development, employment generation, and self-reliance. Among the various courses, the EMT (Emergency Medical Technology) training program has become one of the most impactful initiatives of the centre.
The EMT course is a 3-month practical-oriented training program designed to prepare students for basic emergency medical support and patient care services. The training includes first aid, patient handling, vital monitoring, emergency response techniques, and workplace readiness. Classes are conducted by experienced healthcare professionals, including trained GNM nurses, along with hands-on practice sessions in a dedicated lab setup.
During the last year, around 63 students received training under the EMT program, with nearly 83% placement support in local nursing homes and healthcare centres. Several students have already been selected in reputed nursing homes around South 24 Parganas, helping them begin their professional journey in the healthcare sector.
Apart from technical training, the centre also provides free Basic IT classes, counselling sessions, communication skill development, and workplace readiness support to improve students’ confidence and employability.
The vocational training initiatives at SURYA Centre are creating positive social impact by empowering rural youth, especially economically vulnerable students, with skills and employment opportunities.
