A virtual meeting was successfully organized by Team MUKTI on 10th January 2026 with the esteemed sponsor JU Alumni Sydney Chapter, newly selected students supported under their sponsorship, and members of the MUKTI team. Conducted in a warm and engaging environment, the meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the sponsor and the students while creating a meaningful platform for interaction, motivation, and mutual understanding. The session reflected MUKTI’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and long-term partnership-building in its Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) Program.
JU Alumni Sydney Chapter has been closely associated with MUKTI since the academic year 2015–16, consistently extending support to talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the years, this association has enabled many students to continue their higher education with confidence and dignity. In the academic year 2025–26, the Chapter further expanded its support by including seven additional students, demonstrating a sustained and deep commitment toward educational empowerment and social responsibility.
The meeting was enriched by the presence of Mr. Krish De, a 1970 batch alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University, who currently serves as the Coordinator of Mukti’s Talented Students Sponsorship Program on behalf of JU Alumni Sydney Chapter and is based in Sydney. Mr. De shared valuable insights from his distinguished professional journey spanning over 42 years in Civil Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. His career included service with Indian Airlines (now Air India) in Mumbai from 1971 to 1980, Malaysian Airlines in Kuala Lumpur from 1980 to 1995, Air Niugini in Port Moresby from 1996 to 2000, and QANTAS in Sydney from 2000 to 2014. Drawing from this extensive global experience, he encouraged students to remain disciplined, focused, ethical, and resilient in both academic and professional pursuits. His interaction was highly inspiring and motivating for the students.
The sponsored students who participated in the meeting represented a diverse range of academic disciplines in Engineering and Medical education. The students included Souvik Makur, pursuing BE in Information Technology (3rd Year, 6th Semester); Manas Mandal, pursuing BE in Power Engineering (2nd Year, 2nd Semester); Sankha Subhra Patra, pursuing BE in Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering (3rd Year, 2nd Semester); Antu Kaibartya, pursuing BE in Power Engineering (3rd Year, 2nd Semester); Koushik Poria, pursuing Mechanical Engineering (4th Year); Debabrata Bhunia, studying MBBS (3rd Professional, Part II); and Tanushri Roy Pramanik, also studying MBBS (3rd Professional, Part II). Their participation highlighted the inclusiveness and academic diversity of the TSS Program.
During the interaction, students actively shared their academic progress, career aspirations, and personal experiences. Many expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support received through MUKTI’s Talented Students Sponsorship Program, noting that the assistance had significantly reduced their financial burden and allowed them to focus more effectively on their studies. Students acknowledged that the encouragement from MUKTI and JU Alumni Sydney Chapter has been instrumental in strengthening their confidence, motivation, and long-term educational goals.
Mr. Krish De also engaged in detailed discussions regarding the structure and functioning of the TSS Program, including the student selection process, mentoring and engagement strategies, and future plans for student development. His thoughtful questions and constructive inputs reflected a strong commitment not only to financial support but also to the holistic growth and well-being of the students. This exchange further reinforced the collaborative and value-driven partnership between JU Alumni Sydney Chapter and Mukti.
The meeting concluded on a positive and inspiring note, marked by warmth, encouragement, and shared purpose. MUKTI sincerely acknowledges and deeply appreciates JU Alumni Sydney Chapter, and particularly Mr. Krish De, for their continued trust, leadership, and dedication toward transforming young lives through education. Such meaningful interactions reaffirm MUKTI’s mission and inspire students, sponsors, and the Mukti team to move forward with renewed responsibility, commitment, and hope toward a brighter and more equitable future.
