To Provide Safe Drinking Water for the Rural Population of Sunderban, Mukti Installed Water Tanks at Mukti Gram
There is a severe drinking water crisis in most parts of the Sundarbans. Due to the salinity in water most water resources are unusable. Moreover in the summer the fresh water bodies dry out. In this situation, a solution for smart and sustainable drinking water management is required to give access to safe and affordable drinking water.
To provide safe drinking water to the villagers of Mukti Gram, Mukti installed two 1,000 liter water tanks, one at Mukti Library and other near Ramkrishna Bazar. With these tanks pump sets were installed and electrical connections were made.3 tapes are attached with the tank. The tanks will be filled by the groundwater within 15 minutes. Villagers of Mukti Gram can easily access these two places. Besides drinking the water will be used for the landscaping of Mukti Gram.
