In a significant effort to raise awareness about Thalassemia Screening Camp and promote early detection, MUKTI, organized a free screening camp on 7th January 2025 at the Sundarban Mela. The initiative was aimed at screening the local youth for Thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder, with a focus on prevention and early diagnosis.
The screening was conducted in partnership with Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital, where a team of skilled medical professionals oversaw the process. A total of 123 students from Krishnachandrapur High School participated in the camp, benefitting from the free testing and health guidance provided on the day.Thalassemia Screening Camp
Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder that can lead to severe anaemia and other health complications if not detected and managed early. The camp aimed to identify individuals who may be carriers of the Thalassemia gene and provide them with vital information about genetic counselling and preventative measures.
