SWAS 2.0 Meeting at Herambagopalpur Builds Awareness on Cooperative Registration and Women-Led Livelihoods
On 5 September 2026, MUKTI organised a meeting with women members at the Herambagopalpur Branch to discuss the registration process for the SWAS 2.0 Cooperative and the livelihood opportunities that can emerge through a formally organised cooperative structure.
The meeting focused on helping participants understand how cooperative registration can strengthen collective participation and support women in exploring different income-generating activities. The discussion highlighted opportunities to start or expand small enterprises based on individual skills, interests and locally available resources, while also exploring access to eligible government-linked financial assistance, loans and subsidies.
Participants were introduced to the importance of building a strong and organised cooperative, maintaining collective responsibility and making informed decisions regarding future livelihood activities. The conversation also encouraged the women to identify sustainable business opportunities that could contribute to household income and gradually strengthen their financial independence.
Recognising that administrative procedures and access to formal financial systems can often be challenging, MUKTI will support the women throughout the cooperative registration process, providing guidance, facilitating necessary steps and helping members better understand the opportunities available to them.
The meeting also created an open space for participants to raise questions and discuss their expectations from the cooperative. Such conversations are important in ensuring that the cooperative is not simply a formal structure, but one that is understood, participated in and eventually led by the women themselves.
Through SWAS 2.0, MUKTI continues to promote women-led entrepreneurship, collective enterprise and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The Herambagopalpur meeting marked another step towards enabling women to strengthen their economic participation, build confidence and work together towards greater financial self-reliance.
