Strengthening Child Protection and Health: A Convergence Meeting by ‘Mukti Child’ Team

With the objective of strengthening management and delivering healthcare services to the grassroots level, the ‘Mukti CHILD’ team organized an important Convergence Meeting on March 6, 2026, in collaboration with the Health and ICDS departments of Borough V.

Joint Initiatives for Public Health Safety

The meeting was attended by approximately 50 representatives, including Medical Officers, Health Service Workers (HSW), ICDS workers, Supervisors, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM). The primary goal of the session was to improve the quality of maternal and child health by fostering coordination between government systems and non-governmental organizations.

Key Discussion Points

The workshop featured detailed discussions on several critical topics:

• Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD): The significance of early development and proper nurturing of children.
• Grassroots Requirements: Identifying the challenges faced during field-level operations and their potential solutions.
• Areas of Collaboration: The roles of HSW and ICDS workers and how to work effectively through joint efforts.

Women’s Health and Awareness

Ms. Sonamon Basu, Health Program Manager at Mukti, highlighted various aspects of women’s health and preventive measures against common diseases. Furthermore, a brief outline of Mukti’s long-standing contributions to social welfare was presented to the participants.
