Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Port and Mukti Join Forces to Fight Drinking Water Crisis

Mukti, in collaboration with the Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Port in Kolkata, installed one elevated tube well each in Shunia and Sahara villages, located within the Sahara Gram Panchayat under the Egra Block of Purba Medinipur district to fight against drinking water crisis. Each elevated tube well is equipped with a 1,000-liter water tank and an electric boring machine. They were inaugurated on 17th September by Shri Dilip Ghosh, the Hon’ble Member of Parliament representing the Medinipur district. About 140 villagers attended the inauguration program.

For the residents of these villages, lack of sanitation and access to clean drinking water has been a serious and long-standing challenge.

Mr. Ghosh wholeheartedly commended Mukti and its partner for taking this crucial step. He affirmed his commitment to the development of the area and pledged to initiate numerous additional projects that will further enhance the lives of the local community.
