Self Help Group Executing Exotic Bird Farming Project

Mukti Self Help Group (SHG) project has been started successfully. As Mukti had been operating several SHG in Nagendrapur and Kankandighi GP of sunderban from last one year, it was a great challenge to make low income village woman group independent.

Especially when Aila cyclone affected most part of Sunderban including Mukti’s working area and current agriculture system and other income generation sources are almost closed for deltas people. That time Mukti’s initiative to create entrepreneur among village women to generate source of income is very significant.

With the help of SAIKAT. (Bangali Cultural group of California –USA) came forward and supported Mukti’s initiative with funding help.

SHG women are building small cage to breed Exotic Bird (love bird), which are very nice looking and manly used as pet. Through this initiative every entrepreneur’s (woman) income is being secured by at least Rs 1500- 2000 per month where investment requirement is only Rs 5000.

There are still several groups are waiting for fund and start business, Mukti would like to request patrons to support the project. Rs 5000 or $100 can bring a change of life to a village woman and her family.
