The last day of the “Sundarban Agriculture, Education, Handicraft and Environment Fair 2024” January 9, 2024, saw an award ceremony honoring the women associated with Mukti’s livelihood initiative. The ceremony kicked off with the felicitation of guests and recognition of the 20 MCDF branch presidents.
The spotlight then shifted to the outstanding teams in loan acquisition and repayment across the branches. A total of nine MCDF members from different branches stood tall as recipients of this award. The deserving awardees included Barna Hazra from Purba Sridharpur, Chayma Biwi Khan from Kankandighi, Jhumpa Naskar from Radhakantapur, Monira Khan from Herembogopalpur, Manju Mistri from Krishnachandrapur, Sujata Das from Patharpratima, Sikha Das from Kakdwip, Uma Gayen from Laxmikantapur, and Khukumoni Raut from Brajaballavpur.
In addition to the recognition of the loan teams, three livelihood awards were dedicated to emerging entrepreneurs. Gita Naiya and Archana Mondal received accolades for their excellence in soft toy craftsmanship, while Bharati Hazra was honored for her prowess in food processing.
The award ceremony celebrated the dedication and achievements of these women who serve as inspirations for more aspiring entrepreneurs within the Mukti community. It was a fitting conclusion to the fair, on a note of empowerment and success.
