In a significant stride towards ensuring child health and wellbeing, MUKTI is proud to announce the extension of the Nutrition Distribution Program to our beneficiaries in the Sundarbans region, in collaboration with the Bhagirathi Neotia Group. This vital initiative marks a new chapter in our shared mission to uplift the most vulnerable sections of society through targeted nutrition support.
On 27th June 2025, a cohort of 64 malnourished children, aged between 3 and 15 years, accompanied by their mothers, gathered at MUKTI’s MCDF Office in Raidighi, having come from five different blocks of the Sundarbans region. As part of this extended support, nutrition bags were distributed, ensuring supplementary nourishment for the next six months. These nutrition packs are specifically curated to meet the dietary needs of growing children who are at risk of undernourishment.
To ensure long-term impact and measurable progress, the height and weight of each child will be monitored monthly. This data-driven approach helps in evaluating individual health progress and tailoring further interventions accordingly.
Malnutrition continues to be a pressing issue in the remote parts of Sundarbans, where access to healthcare and balanced diets remains limited. Programs like these are not just about food; they represent hope, resilience, and a commitment to breaking the vicious cycle of poor health and poverty.
Early nutritional interventions play a pivotal role in building stronger immune systems, improving cognitive development, and giving every child a fair chance to thrive. Through such collaborative efforts, we move closer to our vision of a healthier, empowered, and self-sustaining rural community.
MUKTI expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Bhagirathi Neotia Group for their unwavering support and compassion.
