Mukti’s Heartfelt Gratitude to SBI Kolkata for Donating Ambulances and Delivery Van

On the occasion of SBI Bank Day, the State Bank of India (SBI) Local Head Office in Kolkata extended its support to Mukti by providing two ambulances and one delivery van. These contributions play a vital role in uplifting marginalized communities residing in the Sundarbans region.

The villagers in the remote areas of Sundarbans still face the challenge of traveling several kilometers to reach a well-equipped hospital, as the Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and rural hospitals lack proper medical facilities. The delays in accessing healthcare and receiving timely and adequate treatment have been identified as contributing factors to maternal mortality. It is crucial to address these issues and ensure that the marginalized sections have access to quality healthcare when needed.

The ambulance vans will serve the Kakdwip Block and Raidighi area. This will ensure that underprivileged individuals have timely access to medical facilities. Additionally, the delivery van will facilitate the collection of organic vegetables from local farmers, fostering sustainable livelihoods and creating market linkages.

During the donation event, Chief General Manager Mr. Prem Anup Sinha and General Managers from 5 circles were present. Mr. Soumitra Bose from Mukti delivered a brief speech and received a replica key from Mr. Prem Anup Sinha. Subsequently, the Mukti team, along with the SBI dignitaries, participated in the flag-off ceremony.
