Mukti’s Biodiversity Day Celebration in Kankandighi Bio-village

Mukti celebrated International Biodiversity Day on May 22, 2024, in collaboration with organic farmers from Kankandighi Bio-village in South 24 Parganas district. The theme for the 2024 International Day for Biodiversity was ‘Be Part of the Plan’.

To mark the occasion, Mukti engaged 35 organic farmers from Kankandighi in a series of activities and conducted an awareness campaign reaching out to 550 farmers in the village. During the event, farmers planted trees across various areas of the village and applied different strains of germs, microorganisms, and bacteria sourced from Mukti’s own bio lab onto agricultural fields. These microorganisms are instrumental in enhancing soil fertility.

The awareness campaign emphasized the significance of biodiversity conservation in today’s context and underscored the importance of sustainable agricultural practices. Mukti reaffirmed its commitment to restoring the traditional essence of the land, enabling every farmer to pursue organic agriculture as a sustainable livelihood.
