MUKTI successfully organized a Value Education Programme on 6th December 2025 with our esteemed and valued sponsor, Ms. Sukla Chattopadhyay, for our sponsored students. The session was conducted with the objective of nurturing human values, ethics, and purpose among students, alongside academic growth.
Ms. Sukla Chattopadhyay has been associated with MUKTI since the Science programme of 2024–25. Her life journey served as a powerful source of inspiration for the students. At the young age of 24, she moved to Hungary, after which she returned to India and completed her PhD from Ballygunge Science College. She then joined the same institution as a Junior Faculty. Later, she moved to Santiago, California, where she worked in the biotechnology sector, gaining experience across several companies. After her professional career, she chose to dedicate herself to education and is currently serving as an elementary school teacher. Her journey beautifully reflected resilience, lifelong learning, and commitment to society.
The session witnessed the participation of over 100 students, who actively engaged and shared their academic journeys and aspirations. Ms. Chattopadhyay spoke deeply about the importance of human values and reminded students that true success lies in being valuable to society. She shared the famous words of Albert Einstein:
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
During the interaction, she explained two important cultural perspectives:
· Individualistic culture, which emphasizes personal freedom, self-reliance, individual achievements, and personal goals.
· Collectivist culture, which prioritizes the needs of the family, community, and society, encouraging cooperation, loyalty, harmony, and strong social bonds.
Ms. Chattopadhyay emphasized that while pursuing personal goals and building a secure future, students must also remain compassionate and extend help to those in need. She encouraged students to stay rooted in their core values, as these values shape character and lead to a meaningful life.
She also highlighted the importance of ethics and integrity, explaining that ethical values include honesty, compassion, loyalty, respect for others’ rights, and responsibility. Integrity, she shared, means doing the right thing even when no one is watching—being honest, trustworthy, accountable, and consistent in actions. Such qualities build trust in relationships, institutions, and society.
Ms. Chattopadhyay encouraged students not to hesitate in expressing their values, reminding them that popularity is temporary, but being a valuable person creates lasting impact. She motivated students to embrace challenges with courage, stay focused on their goals, and remain disciplined and resilient.
The session also included an engaging question-and-answer segment, where students openly interacted with Ms. Chattopadhyay and shared their thoughts and concerns. She responded with warmth, clarity, and encouragement.
Towards the end of the meeting, the MUKTI TSS team briefly highlighted the objectives of the Talented Student Sponsorship Programme and its student-centred approach. Ms. Chattopadhyay offered heartfelt encouragement, motivating students to remain committed to their educational journeys.
The meeting concluded on a positive, hopeful, and inspiring note, reaffirming our shared commitment to education, values, and holistic student development.
MUKTI expresses its sincere gratitude to Ms. Sukla Chattopadhyay for her continued support, guidance, and invaluable contribution to shaping young minds.
