On 15th August 2025, Mukti celebrated the 79th Independence Day at its Sabujkunja campus in Purba Sridharpur under Nagendrapur Gram Panchayat with great enthusiasm and reverence. The occasion was marked not only at Sabujkunja but also across multiple locations through various projects of Mukti, reflecting the organisation’s widespread engagement with the community. The event brought together Mukti Sathis, local dignitaries, students from MSS and MKSS, and villagers, all united in the spirit of patriotism.
The day began with a spirited Probhat Ferry, where participants marched with energy and pride. At the campus, a beautifully decorated altar set the stage for the celebration. The Indian tricolour was hoisted with honour, followed by garlanding the portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Participants paid floral tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence, and together sang the national song in chorus.
Following the formal ceremony, a vibrant cultural programme unfolded. The opening song “Amar Mukti Aloy Aloy” set a soulful tone for the performances that followed, including speeches, dances, recitations, and a drama presented by Mukti’s cultural team. Students also showcased their talents through various cultural acts, highlighting both patriotism and creativity.
The dignitaries shared their reflections on India’s journey of freedom and the responsibilities of citizens in building a stronger nation. The programme concluded with the distribution of khichuri among all attendees, symbolising unity and shared joy.
Through this celebration, Mukti not only honoured India’s freedom struggle but also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity, culture, and community spirit in rural Bengal.
