On 8th August 2021 Mukti Fresh participated in an organic fair at Basundhora Park, Belgachia in Kolkata. Mukti with other organizations of Kolkata, those who only encourage organic yields, organized the fair. This great opportunity provided Mukti Fresh a huge platform to spread awareness among the consumers to keep organic products in their diet. Consumption of organic foods contributes to a healthy body and a detoxified environment. The slogan of the fair was “Organic food every Sunday” (Prakitik Khabar proti Robibar). The fair started at 7 AM and continues till 1 PM.
Mr. Purnendu Basu the state ex agricultural minister was present at the fair. He also visited Mukti Fresh stall and appreciated the initiative of Mukti. Mr. Debabrata Halder, the CEO and project coordinator (Mukti Fresh) of Mukti with the Mukti fresh volunteers arrived before the fair would start with organic products and was there till the end of the fair.
The products that Mukti Fresh exhibited and sold are all organically grown crops that are not exposed to any chemicals right from the stage of seed treatments to the final post-harvest handling and processing.
On one hand, the fair was organized to support the organic farmers for more production and trying to encourage more conventional farmers to opt for organic farming. On the other hand, it was meant as an awareness program too so that people can understand the benefits of consuming organically grown products.
The fair was a success at the end of the day. Enthusiastic people from different areas of Kolkata and suburbs visited Mukti Fresh stall and have bought several organic products.
Mukti Fresh hopes that people will acknowledge our efforts and gradually they will adopt organic food.
