Mukti Formed 38 SHGs in Purba Medinipur District
Mukti Community Development Fund (MCDF) has initiated a presence in Sahara GP, Egra block, Purba Medinipur district by forming 38 Self-Help Groups (SHG) with 380 members. The MCDF project aims to contribute significantly towards the reduction of poverty, deprivation, discrimination and exclusion through awareness, social mobilization, service delivery and training. Mukti is playing a key role in the formation of Self-Help Groups and in motivating women to join Self-Help Groups.
The women will be trained to become a cohesive group through regular meetings and will be encouraged to cultivate the habit of building up their savings. Capacity-building programs and training will be imparted to the group members, and the groups will be linked to a bank so that access to loans will be facilitated.
