On the occasion of World Cancer Day, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital organised a special programme and invited Mukti as an NGO partner. A felicitation ceremony was held on 4th February 2026 to acknowledge Mukti’s valuable support in enabling the hospital to conduct multiple cancer awareness, screening, and treatment camps in remote villages of the Sundarbans.
Through this collaboration, several camps were successfully organised under the coordination of Program Manager Ms. Sonamon Basu, benefiting underprivileged community members. Many patients received access to free surgeries and treatment through various government health schemes. The partnership proved mutually beneficial by strengthening cancer outreach services and ensuring timely referrals for rural patients.
The event was lively and engaging, with children participating in cultural activities such as puppet shows, music, and dance. Senior doctors from the hospital conducted awareness sessions on cancer prevention, early detection, and available treatment facilities and government-supported schemes.
NGO partners were felicitated, and discussions were held on future collaboration. The Managing Director, Dr. Soma Mukhopadhyay the Principal and Managing Trustee of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital (NCRI) expressed her appreciation for Mukti’s effective coordination and patient referral system and assured continued support, including enhanced low cost cancer screening facilities for Mukti staff and village communities.
The programme marked a meaningful celebration of World Cancer Day and reaffirmed Mukti’s commitment to strengthening cancer care access in underserved regions.
