Monisha’s Inspiring Journey: Overcoming Challenges and Pursuing a Future in Nursing

Born and raised in the village of Raidighi in the South 24 Parganas district, Monisha had a modest upbringing under the care of her parents. In their nuclear family, her mother managed the household while her father toiled as a farmer to make ends meet. For Monisha, education was always a priority, and her parents diligently supported her studies until she reached class 10.

However, as Monisha progressed further in her academic journey, the financial burden on her parents became increasingly challenging to bear. Aware of her family’s constraints, Monisha took it upon herself to seek out scholarship opportunities that could provide the means for her to continue her education. It was during this search that she came across Mukti’s TSS Program, a ray of hope in her pursuit of knowledge.

Applying for the program, Monisha met the eligibility criteria and, in 2016, received a pivotal lifeline from Mohita Tagore and Surajit Sural, sponsors who believed in her potential. At that time, she was in class 11, and from that moment onward, Mukti continued to provide her with invaluable financial assistance throughout her higher secondary education until her completion of a BSc in Nursing from KPC Medical College.

With the generous scholarship, Monisha was able to cover her tuition fees and other living expenses, easing the burden on her family and allowing her to fully dedicate herself to her studies. The benefits extended beyond financial support, as she also had access to Mukti’s library, where she could enrich her knowledge and broaden her horizons.
