Melay Mukti 2025–26 was successfully organised on 4 January 2026 at Heramba Gopalpur, Patharpratima, with the aim of raising awareness on key socio-economic issues affecting the community, with special emphasis on the prevention of child marriage.
The programme began with a powerful rally led by Mukti SHG (MCDF) women and adolescent girls, drawing attention to the urgent need to end child marriage. Around 600 community members from four moujas actively participated, raising strong and unified slogans against the practice. The rally concluded with a collective pledge, reaffirming the community’s commitment to preventing child marriage in their respective localities.
The event also featured a series of interactive stalls where participants engaged in discussions on critical issues including health, education, agriculture, livelihoods, climate change, community seed banks, gender discrimination, and child rights violations. These interactions created an open space for learning, dialogue, and shared responsibility among community members.
The programme concluded with stage presentations highlighting ongoing community initiatives and showcasing the growing sense of ownership and leadership within the community. Melay Mukti reflected Mukti’s continued efforts to promote awareness, collective action, and sustainable change through strong community participation.
