Since its inception in 2006, Mukti’s Talented Student Sponsorship (TSS) has served as a beacon of hope and opportunity across various districts of West Bengal and India. This pivotal program is dedicated to nurturing exceptional yet underprivileged young talents by providing vital financial support, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations without hindrance. Beyond mere financial aid, the TSS program acts as a crucial bridge, fostering meaningful connections between generous donors and students, to cultivate cooperation and pave the way for successful future careers. Importantly, TSS alumni actively engage in raising awareness and participating in philanthropic activities, perpetuating the cycle of support.
On December 9th, 2023, the 18th Annual TSS event and award ceremony was held at Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture “Shivananda Hall” in Golpark, Kolkata. The event was marked by the enthusiastic participation of 400 individuals, including 132 new and 118 alumni students along with their guardians, 130 staff members, and 20 distinguished guests. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guests Swami Suparnananda Maharaja, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, and Mr. Siddharth Majumdar, Chairman of the WB SSC board. Notably, dignitaries from Anmol Industries Limited, including Mr. Dilip Kumar Choudhary (Director), Mr. Satyajeet Tewary (Manager, Philanthropy), Mr. Priyadhan De (Assistant Manager, CSR), alongside dignitaries from YCPL/VIVO, namely Mr. Bhaskar Sengupta (Deputy General Manager), Ms. Hsiung Yu Mei (Administrative Director), Mr. Sumon Ghosh (Senior Manager, Marketing Management), and Ms. Devlina Mitra (Assistant Manager, Promotion Management) graced the occasion. Additionally, other esteemed guests included Mr. Krishna Halder and Ms. Rishika Tripathi from Srijan Realty Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Mahesh Pansari from Primarc Projects Pvt Ltd, and TSS sponsors such as Mr. Saikat Mondal, Mr. Anjan kr. Ganguly, Mr. Anindya Sen, Ms. Karpurika Rouchowdhury, Mr. Debkumar Bandopadhyay, Mr. Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Saumyendra Kumar Bagchi, and Mr. Shakti Chaterjee, all of whom are supporting TSS students in their educational journeys.
The event was impeccably hosted by Mukti personnel Nandita Jayraman (Program Manager for Rights and Special Needs), and Madan Gayen (Cultural Project Coordinator). The proceedings commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a soul-stirring inaugural song, “Amar mukti aloy aloy,” composed by Rabindranath Tagore, beautifully sung by TSS students Bratati Jana, Sunanda Adhikari, Sritama Bhowmick, and Pallabi Nag, setting an inspiring and uplifting ambiance.
Following the vibrant inauguration, Mr. Satyajit Ray, the Mukti Secretary, delivered a poignant welcome speech. His address focused on celebrating dreams, perseverance, and the vast spectrum of opportunities awaiting the students at Mukti. Following the Secretary’s impassioned speech, a video presentation chronicled the inspiring journey of Chayanika Das Chowdhury, a TSS student who has embarked on a promising career with Mukti’s support.
