On 20th August, the TSS team facilitated a virtual sponsor-student meeting, attended by Mr. Sanjeev Tayal and the two students he sponsors, Madhu Shaw and Aishwarya Roy. Mr. Tayal has been a dedicated sponsor with the TSS program since the 2022-23 academic year. Currently, he supports Madhu, who is interning as part of her BHMS program, and Aishwarya, who is in her final year of B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
The meeting held special significance as it coincided with the second death anniversary of Mr. Tayal’s father, who passed away due to COVID-19. To honor his father’s memory, Mr. Tayal chose to spend time with the students he supports. His mother, Mithlesh Tayal, also joined the meeting and expressed her desire to meet the students, making the event even more personal and heartfelt.
Mukti extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sanjeev Tayal for his steadfast support and generosity towards our students. His sponsorship has been a source of inspiration, empowering young minds like Madhu Shaw and Aishwarya Roy to pursue their academic dreams despite financial challenges. Mr. Tayal’s commitment to not only supporting their education but also personally connecting with them reflects his deep belief in uplifting the underprivileged. His continued involvement and dedication inspire us to further our mission, and we are immensely grateful for his partnership in creating a brighter future for these students.
A senior IT executive with over 27 years of industry experience, Mr. Tayal has been associated with Mukti for the past three years. He resides in Bangalore with his family and holds a deep belief in sustainable, long-term measures to uplift the underprivileged. While he feels his current efforts are small, he is committed to contributing more significantly in the future. He praised Mukti’s remarkable vision, hoping it sparks a transformative movement in society.
Madhu Shaw, from Bansberia in Hooghly district, West Bengal, is pursuing her 3rd year in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) at Midnapore Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital. She lives with her mother, Durga Devi, a jute mill worker, and her four siblings. The family faces financial challenges, as her mother is the sole earner with a modest annual income. Despite these hardships, her mother has always prioritized Madhu’s education, instilling in her a strong drive to succeed. Recognizing their difficult situation, Madhu applied for a Mukti scholarship and was selected for sponsorship by Mr. Tayal. This support has been crucial in allowing her to continue her studies and pursue her dreams of becoming a homeopathic doctor.
Aishwarya Roy, from Burdwan district, is in her final year of B.Tech in Civil Engineering at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology. Her family consists of her mother, who works as a contractual staff member at the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), and her physically challenged younger sister. Despite the financial strain, Aishwarya remains dedicated to her studies and has aspirations for higher education. The scholarship provided by Mr. Tayal through Mukti has been instrumental in supporting her education, bringing her closer to her dream of advancing in civil engineering.
During the meeting, both Madhu and Aishwarya shared their academic progress and future aspirations with Mr. Tayal. The interaction was heartfelt and meaningful, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.
