Mukti, in association with “YCPL/VIVO,” organized two relief distribution programs for those affected by Cyclone Remal at Kuyemuri under Herombogopalpur GP and Kankandighi Bio-Village.
At Kuyemuri over 80 people, including women, children, and farmers, received essential supplies through three types of kits: Ration Kits, Baby Food Kits, and Farmer’s Kits. Additionally, tarpaulins were distributed to provide temporary shelter.
More than 35 ration kits were distributed, each containing rice, lentils, potatoes, puffed rice, and soybeans. Ten farmer’s kits included paddy and vegetable seeds to help restore agricultural activities. Ten baby food and hygiene kits, which contained milk powder, biscuit packets, hand soap, Horlicks pouches, and sanitary napkins, were also provided. Over 20 tarpaulins were given out to help affected families protect themselves from the elements. This comprehensive relief effort aimed to support the immediate needs of the community and aid in their recovery process.
At Bio-Village 50 people received ration kits and tarpaulin support. Each kit contains rice, lentils, potatoes, puffed rice, and soybeans.
The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the relief provided by Mukti and YCPL/VIVO. Women, children, and farmers were visibly relieved and appreciative of the essential supplies, which addressed their immediate needs following Cyclone Remal. The distribution of ration kits ensured that families had access to basic food items, while the baby food and hygiene kits provided much-needed nutrition and health supplies for infants and mothers. Farmers were particularly thankful for the seeds, which would enable them to begin replanting their crops and restore their livelihoods. The tarpaulins were a welcome aid in providing temporary shelter and protection from the elements. Overall, the beneficiaries felt supported and hopeful for their recovery and rebuilding efforts.
