On 15th November 2025, Mr. Priyodhan De from Anmol visited the project locations under the Community-Led Mangrove Plantation for Climate Resilience and Livelihood Support in the Sundarbans Region initiative, which is supported by Anmol. The visit aimed to review the ongoing activities, interact with the communities involved, and understand the progress made through the collective efforts of local stakeholders and Mukti’s field team.
During his interactions with the beneficiaries, Mr. De observed the plantations maintained by community members and discussed their experiences in nurturing the saplings. The beneficiaries shared how the initiative has not only increased awareness of environmental stewardship but also created avenues for livelihood support in vulnerable riverine areas.
He also held a detailed discussion with the project team, focusing on field-level challenges such as soil salinity, tidal variations, and sapling survival rates. The team presented updates on plantation density, species selection, and monitoring mechanisms adopted across different sites. This exchange helped him gain a comprehensive understanding of the project’s operational realities and the innovative approaches used to ensure sustainability.
Mr. De appreciated the commitment of the communities and the team’s efforts in strengthening climate resilience through a participatory model. His observations and feedback will support more streamlined implementation, improved field coordination, and stronger community engagement in the upcoming phases of the project.
Overall, the visit served as an important opportunity to reflect on achievements, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce the shared goal of protecting the Sundarbans’ fragile ecosystem through community-led restoration.
