On the 2nd of July 2023, a delegation of 24 distinguished individuals, including professors specializing in Agriculture, Veterinary, and Pisciculture from Central Universities of North East and IIM Calcutta, embarked on an enlightening visit to Mukti Gram. Their objective was to engage with and learn from the organic farmers of Mukti, fostering an enriching exchange of knowledge and experiences.
The visit was thoughtfully structured, dividing the visitors into three groups to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Mukti’s organic farming practices. In the first half, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM, the delegation embarked on a field visit to 16 organic Mukti farmers across three villages – Paschim JataKansari para, PurbaJataHatuyaGheri, and PurbaJataMoyrapara. Immersed in the vibrant greenery of the organic vegetable fields, the professors observed firsthand the meticulous care and dedication that goes into nurturing organic produce. The farmers graciously guided them through the process, demonstrating the art of creating bio-manure and highlighting the sustainable practices that lay the foundation for Mukti’s organic farming success.
In the second half of their visit, the delegation had the privilege of meeting with 18-19 organic farmers from Baradanagar, Damkal, PurbaSridharpur, and Nagendrapur. Gathered in a meeting, the professors and farmers engaged in a lively discussion, sharing their expertise, experiences, and innovative approaches. The meeting provided an invaluable platform for mutual learning, as the professors gained insights into the intricacies of organic farming techniques employed by Mukti’s farmers. Impressed by the methodology and commitment demonstrated by the farmers, the visitors expressed their admiration and appreciation for the impactful work being done at Mukti.
The visit served as a catalyst for inspiration and collaboration, igniting a spark of enthusiasm among the professors and farmers alike.
