Mukti SURYA Skill Development Centre organised a Skill Awareness Programme and Cyber Security Workshop on 31 August 2026 at Subhashnagar High School, Raidighi, Chapla, as part of its ongoing community outreach and youth empowerment initiatives. The programme aimed to create awareness among school students about the importance of skill development, career-oriented learning and safe digital practices.
During the Skill Awareness session, students were sensitised about the growing importance of practical and vocational skills alongside formal education. Students were encouraged to understand their interests and abilities and to consider different career pathways beyond conventional academic options. The various skill development and livelihood-oriented opportunities available through Mukti SURYA Skill Development Centre were also introduced to the students.
A Cyber Security Workshop was conducted as an integral part of the programme to address the increasing risks associated with the use of smartphones, social media and online platforms. Students were made aware of common cyber threats, including phishing, fraudulent links, OTP and password scams, fake social media profiles and online fraud. The importance of maintaining strong passwords, using two-factor authentication, protecting personal information and verifying online communications before responding or clicking on links was explained through practical examples. Students were also encouraged to be responsible and cautious while using social media and other digital platforms.
The sessions were conducted in an interactive and participatory manner, and the students showed considerable interest in both the skill awareness and cyber security discussions. They actively participated in the interaction and shared their experiences and queries related to digital platforms and online safety. The programme provided an opportunity for students to understand the relevance of skill-based learning while also developing greater awareness of responsible digital behaviour.
The initiative also helped strengthen the engagement of Mukti SURYA Skill Development Centre with the local school community and created a platform for connecting students with future skill development opportunities. The response from the students and school representatives highlighted the importance of conducting regular awareness programmes on career planning, vocational education, employability skills and cyber security in the Raidighi region.
Overall, Mukti SURYA Skill Development Centre remains committed to continuing such school and community-based initiatives to promote skill development, employability, digital literacy and sustainable livelihood opportunities among rural youth.
