“A teacher’s influence extends far beyond the classroom. By empowering educators, we lay the foundation for stronger communities and brighter futures.”
With this belief at its core, Mukti Kishalaya Shiksha Samiti (MKSS) organised a comprehensive Teacher Training Programme at the Mukti Kolkata Urban Office on 27th June 2026 (Saturday). Held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the session was facilitated by Mr. Subrata Naskar, who brought together educators for an enriching learning experience focused on strengthening teaching practices and enhancing classroom effectiveness.
The programme aimed to equip educators with practical knowledge, modern teaching methodologies, and learner-centred approaches that can help create more inclusive, engaging, and child-friendly classrooms. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, participants explored how effective teaching extends beyond academics to foster curiosity, confidence, and holistic development among children.
A major focus of the training was Child-Centred Education, encouraging teachers to understand and respond to the unique needs, abilities, and learning styles of every child. Sessions on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) highlighted the importance of building strong educational foundations during the formative years, ensuring children develop essential literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
The training also covered Classroom and Behaviour Management, emphasising positive discipline techniques and strategies for creating supportive learning environments. Teachers gained valuable insights into different types of learners and learner-centred teaching methods, enabling them to make lessons more interactive, inclusive, and meaningful.
Another key component focused on strengthening LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills, alongside discussions on reinforcement and punishment in education, promoting positive encouragement as an effective way to motivate students and build self-confidence. Participants also received practical guidance on lesson planning, helping them design structured and purposeful learning experiences aligned with educational goals.
Keeping pace with changing educational needs, the programme introduced teachers to Digital and STEM Education, demonstrating how technology and hands-on learning can make classrooms more engaging while nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Sessions on growth and development, recapitulation techniques, and basic counselling procedures further enhanced teachers’ understanding of supporting children’s academic as well as emotional well-being.
Throughout the programme, educators actively participated in discussions, shared classroom experiences, and reflected on practical challenges, making the learning process collaborative and highly relevant to their everyday teaching.
