After nearly four years, on 1st July 2026, Mukti’s Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) programme witnessed a heartwarming reunion as sponsor Mr. Niladri Nath Bagchi met his sponsored students in person at Mukti’s Garia City Office.
Mr. Bagchi has been associated with Mukti since the 2017–18 academic session, consistently supporting deserving students in pursuing higher education. Owing to health-related issues, he had been unable to meet his sponsored students face-to-face for several years, making this interaction especially memorable. This academic year, he is supporting four young women, each pursuing her dreams in a different field of study.
Among them is Anwesha Bera, a first-year student of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Jadavpur University. Coming from a family of four, her father, Mr. Ashok Kumar Bera, is a para-teacher, while her mother, Mrs. Mousumi Bera, is a homemaker. Anwesha dreams of becoming a successful materials science engineer or researcher. Beyond her professional aspirations, she hopes to educate underprivileged children and empower women through education and awareness on health and hygiene.
Tandrika Gayen is pursuing B.A. (English Honours), Fourth Semester, at Ashutosh College. She belongs to a farming family in the Sundarbans, where her father, Mr. Kamalesh Gayen, works as a farmer and her mother is a homemaker. Determined to serve society, Tandrika aspires to qualify for the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) and contribute to public administration.
Another inspiring student, Sayani Das, is currently pursuing MBBS (3rd Professional Part-II). She comes from a humble family where her father earns a living as a fruit seller and her mother manages the household. Inspired by her younger brother, who is physically challenged, Sayani hopes to become a gynaecologist and dedicate her career to providing compassionate healthcare, especially to those in need.
The youngest among the four, Sanjukta Majumder, is preparing for her Higher Secondary Examination while simultaneously working towards qualifying for JEE to pursue B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. A resident of Naktala, Kolkata, she comes from a family of four where her father works as a gas stove mechanic and her mother is a homemaker. Sanjukta dreams of building a successful career in technology and using her knowledge to make a positive difference in society.
The interaction unfolded as an open and heartfelt conversation. Mr. Bagchi listened with genuine interest as each student shared their academic journey, future ambitions, and the challenges they had overcome. In return, he shared his own life experiences, offering practical advice and words of encouragement that resonated deeply with the students.
He urged them to remain grounded and embrace simplicity, cultivate high ideals and positive thinking, work with sincerity and integrity, and never lose sight of their responsibility towards society. He reminded them that education is not merely a pathway to personal success but also an opportunity to uplift others and contribute meaningfully to the community.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude for Mr. Bagchi’s unwavering support and the confidence he has shown in them over the years. They shared how his encouragement has strengthened their resolve to pursue their goals despite financial and personal challenges.
The meeting concluded on a note of warmth and inspiration, reinforcing the true spirit of Mukti’s Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) programme. More than providing financial assistance, the programme nurtures lasting relationships between sponsors and students, creating a support system built on trust, guidance, and shared hope. It is these meaningful connections that empower talented young minds to pursue higher education with confidence and, in turn, inspire them to become compassionate professionals and responsible citizens.
