“Craft & More” Outlet Inaugurated to Promote Women-Led Handicrafts

Mukti inaugurated “Craft & More”, the exclusive new outlet of Mukti Craft, on 27 December 2025 near the Mukti City Office. The outlet has been launched as a platform to showcase and promote high-quality handcrafted products made by skilled rural women artisans.

The store features a vibrant range of products, including soft toys, handmade jewellery, and other handcrafted items. Each product reflects the creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication of women entrepreneurs from the rural Sundarban.

The items on display are created by beneficiaries of Mukti’s Swavalamban Accelerator in Sundarban (SWAS 2.0) programme, supported by SIDBI. The initiative aims to strengthen women-led enterprises by enabling access to markets, improving income opportunities, and fostering dignity and self-reliance among rural women.

The inauguration programme was attended by Mr Sankar Halder, Founder and President of Mukti, and Mr Anindya Sen, Board Member, who highlighted the importance of market-linked entrepreneurship in empowering rural women.

Through “Craft & More”, Mukti seeks to bridge rural craftsmanship with urban consumers while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for women artisans. The inauguration marks another step in Mukti’s continued commitment to empowering rural women through entrepreneurship and inclusive development.
