A Meaningful First Meeting Between Sponsor and Student Through Mukti’s TSS Programme

Continuing its efforts to foster meaningful relationships between sponsors and students, the Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) Team organised a virtual Sponsor–Student Meeting on 15 July 2026. The meeting aimed to facilitate direct interaction between the sponsor and the student, strengthen their bond, and create a platform for meaningful conversation, mentorship, and encouragement.

The meeting brought together Mr. Asim Das, a supporter from Mukti Australia, and his sponsored student, Sudip Bara. This was the first interaction between Mr. Das and his sponsored student. Associated with Mukti since 2015, Mr. Das has been a valued supporter of the Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) Programme, helping deserving students pursue higher education.

Mr. Das completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University in 1971. He began his professional career as a Computer Programmer with Indian Airlines, where he worked until 1981, before moving to Sydney, Australia. He is currently employed as a Data Analyst with an Australian bank, bringing decades of professional experience and valuable life lessons to share with young students.

In the current academic year, Mr. Das is sponsoring two engineering students under the TSS Programme. One of them, Sudip Bara, attended the meeting. Sudip is currently pursuing B.E. in Electrical Engineering (5th Year, 2nd Semester) at Jadavpur University. Hailing from Kumargram in Alipurduar, he comes from a financially challenged family where his father works as a farmer and strives to support the family’s livelihood as well as his son’s education. Despite financial hardships, Sudip has remained determined to pursue his academic goals with dedication and perseverance.

During the interaction, Sudip shared his educational journey, career aspirations, and future plans. He expressed his ambition to secure a good placement after graduation so that he can provide financial support to his family. He also shared his desire to pursue higher studies while simultaneously preparing for competitive examinations to expand his career opportunities.

The second sponsored student was unable to attend the meeting due to an unforeseen emergency.

Drawing from his own academic and professional journey, Mr. Das shared valuable experiences and words of encouragement with Sudip. He advised him to remain focused on his goals, work hard with sincerity and determination, and never lose confidence in the face of challenges. He also emphasised that true success lies not only in professional achievements but also in becoming a responsible and compassionate individual who contributes positively to society.

Towards the end of the interaction, Mr. Das expressed his interest in visiting the Mukti office and meeting the students in person during his next trip to India. He also encouraged Sudip to stay in regular touch and keep him informed about his academic progress, achievements, and future milestones.

The meeting concluded on a warm and encouraging note, reflecting the true spirit of Mukti’s Talented Students Sponsorship (TSS) Programme. Beyond financial assistance, the programme nurtures lasting relationships between sponsors and students, creating a supportive network of mentorship, guidance, and encouragement that empowers young people to pursue their dreams with confidence and purpose.
