Mukti with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), to empower the MCDF (Mukti Community Development Fund) women by making them independent while pursuing entrepreneurship culture and evolve as experts, decided to train the women in tailoring. To teach them about tailoring and how to use it to make a business out of it Mukti organized a meeting on 25th August, 2021 at SWAS (Swabalamban Accelerator in Sundarban)/ SIDBI training center at Kankandighi GP. The meeting started at 11:00 AM and continued till 1:00 PM.
Mr. Samar Das, 35 years experienced garment businessman and is associated with an NGO as an environmentalist, Mr. Biswajit Pramanik, the trainer, Mr. Raghunath Bairagi, project coordinator of Mukti Community Development Fund and Mr. Ajay Naskar, the SWAS project Coordinator along with the 10 leaders’ of 100 MCDF trainees attended the meeting.
The objective of the meeting was, to encourage the women entrepreneurs to start up their own businesses after completing their training. Mukti has noticed that there are many women who only after receiving the training don’t do anything. The meeting was organized to encourage those women and discuss with them how they can use their skills as a way to earn money. Mr. Das advised them, at the very beginning to start a local business with small initiatives without making a big plan. They can make things for their neighboring women, as per their need and sell them. Gradually their income will increase. Then they will be able to invest in big schemes.
Mr. Pramanik advised them to start by making petticoats for women. Mukti will provide a sewing machine and training kit during their training period.
This initiative will not only make them independent and role models for their family but in turn, they will become master trainers and then can teach more women which would create a ripple effect also. This way the dream of Mukti, to make women self-reliant will come true.
Mukti expresses since gratitude to SIDB,I and Mr. Samar Das and Mr. Biswajit Pramanik for supporting the MCDF women members to teach them ways to earn money and techniques.
Participants are highly pleased to convey their gratitude for giving them such a golden opportunity of an income generation program.
