Bringing together the spirit of Durga Puja and the joy of giving, Mukti Switzerland organised a fundraising stall during Durga Puja celebrations held on 17 and 18 October 2026 in Switzerland. The initiative provided an opportunity to connect with the community, showcase handmade MuktiCrafts, and raise funds for MUKTI’s education and safeguarding initiatives in West Bengal.
The fundraising stall was part of the festive celebrations organised by Utsav and PrangaN, two associations based in the Lavaux region of Switzerland. Amid the cultural festivities, Mukti Switzerland volunteers engaged with visitors, shared information about MUKTI’s work, and encouraged support for initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and vulnerable communities.
One of the highlights of the fundraising initiative was the display of handmade Mukti Crafts, which attracted visitors to the stall and created opportunities for meaningful conversations about MUKTI’s work.
The collection of handcrafted products offered visitors a way to contribute to a social cause while appreciating the creativity and craftsmanship represented by MuktiCrafts.
Beyond fundraising, the stall served as a platform to introduce MUKTI’s community development initiatives to a wider audience in Switzerland, strengthening connections between supporters abroad and communities in West Bengal.
The funds raised through the event were intended to support two important MUKTI initiatives: Mukti Kishalaya Support Schools (MKSS) and Surakha Songlap.
Through MKSS, MUKTI works to strengthen educational opportunities for children, particularly those from underserved communities, by supporting their learning and development.
The Surakha Songlap initiative focuses on safeguarding and community wellbeing, contributing to efforts to create safer and more supportive environments for vulnerable individuals.
By directing the fundraising effort towards these programmes, Mukti Switzerland sought to connect community participation during Durga Puja with meaningful social impact in West Bengal.
The event also highlighted the value of collaboration with community associations that recognise and support MUKTI’s mission.
The involvement of Utsav and PrangaN provided Mukti Switzerland with an opportunity to participate in a widely celebrated cultural occasion while bringing attention to important social causes.
Such partnerships help extend MUKTI’s outreach beyond geographical boundaries, connecting individuals and organisations who share a commitment to education, community wellbeing, and positive social change.
For the Mukti Switzerland volunteers, the two-day event was a memorable experience filled with encouraging interactions and generous support from visitors.
Mukti Switzerland expressed its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited the stall, purchased Mukti Crafts, contributed to the fundraising effort, and showed interest in MUKTI’s work.
Special appreciation was extended to Utsav and PrangaN for providing a platform to connect cultural celebrations with community support and social responsibility.
The initiative demonstrated how festivals can become meaningful opportunities to bring people together not only in celebration but also in support of communities facing social and economic challenges.
Through this fundraising initiative, Mukti Switzerland reaffirmed its commitment to connecting supporters across borders and strengthening MUKTI’s efforts in education and safeguarding. The event was a reminder that even small acts of generosity, when brought together, can contribute to meaningful and lasting change.
