On 20 September 2026, MUKTI took another important step towards Run for Safe Food 2027 with an engaging Admin Meet at Pranab Nagar Shakti Sangha, Garia, bringing together 48 representatives from 24 Runner Clubs.
The meeting was hosted by MUKTI Secretary Mr. Satyajit Ray and graced by MUKTI Founder President Mr. Sankar Haldar, Board Members Sri Timir Baran Bhattacharyya, Sri Supriya Bandyopadhyay and Sri Supriya Sarkar.
🌾 More Than Just a Run
The opening discussion focused on the philosophy behind Run for Safe Food—why this initiative is not simply another running event, but a movement connecting our health, our food, our farmers and our environment. Through a simple yet powerful conversation, participants were taken beyond the city and connected with the story behind every meal—the farmer, the soil, the field and the effort that goes into producing the food we consume.
As the Run for Safe Food campaign reminds us, food connects the farmer in the field to the family at the dining table. It also connects our everyday choices with the health of our communities and the future of our planet.
🌱 Understanding the Larger Cause
A presentation by MUKTI Secretary Mr. Satyajit Ray highlighted MUKTI’s work in agriculture, environment and sustainable community development, helping participants understand the larger purpose behind the Run.
The intention was not only to explain the event, but to create a deeper connection with the cause—safe and nutritious food, sustainable agriculture, responsible consumption and greater recognition of the farmers who feed us.
MUKTI’s Run for Safe Food initiative is built around this larger vision of bringing people together to promote healthier food choices, sustainable farming and community responsibility.
🏃 Run Details, Participation & Ideas
The third phase of the meeting focused on the practical aspects of Run for Safe Food 2027, including:
An interesting suggestion was to provide the club representatives and winning teams with an exposure visit to MUKTI’s Bio-Village, allowing participants to experience first-hand the sustainable practices and rural initiatives that lie at the heart of the Safe Food movement.
The 2027 Run will be held on 14 February 2027 at Eco Park, New Town, featuring a 25 KM Relay (5 × 5 KM), 10 KM Run, 5 KM Run and 3 KM Walkathon—making the movement accessible to runners, families, friends and community members alike.
🤝 From Clubs to Community
The enthusiastic participation of representatives from 24 clubs demonstrated the important role that local communities can play in carrying this message forward. The relay itself carries a powerful symbolism—passing the baton from one person to another, from farmer to consumer, from one generation to the next, and from individual action to collective responsibility. The participating groups expressed their whole-hearted support to the movement and their commitment to join and promote Run for Safe Food 2027.
The meeting concluded with a simple dinner prepared by MUKTI Kitchen, bringing everyone together over food, conversation and a shared purpose.
🌱 Be a progenitor of the cause of change.
