MUKTI and YCPL/VIVO Strengthen Digital Access for 21 Students
As access to digital learning becomes increasingly important for education, skill development and career preparation, MUKTI, with the support of YCPL/VIVO, facilitated the distribution of smartphones to 21 deserving students on 2 September 2026 at Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata.
The initiative was undertaken to help students overcome barriers to digital access and provide them with better opportunities to continue their education, build new skills and prepare for their future. The students were selected from MUKTI’s Talented Students Scholarship (TSS), Mukti Support Schools (MSS) and SURYA programmes, which together support young people through education, academic guidance, skill development and career-oriented opportunities.
For students today, a smartphone is much more than a means of communication. It can provide access to online classes, study materials, educational platforms, digital-skills training, examination preparation, higher-education information and career opportunities. By making these resources more accessible, the initiative seeks to reduce the digital gap that can often limit the progress of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The smartphones will enable the students to participate more actively in digital learning, explore educational and career resources independently and strengthen the skills required in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Through this initiative, 21 students have received an important digital resource to support their educational journey and future aspirations.
MUKTI sincerely appreciates YCPL/VIVO for its valuable support and commitment towards empowering young people through greater digital access. Such partnerships help create opportunities for deserving students to learn, grow and move towards their future with greater confidence.
