MUKTI inaugurated the new KF MUKTI Clinic at Baradanagar in the Nagendrapur region of the Sundarbans on 17 August 2026, marking an important step towards strengthening access to essential healthcare services for communities living in remote and underserved areas.
Located approximately 15 km from Raidighi and 80 km from Kolkata, Baradanagar is situated in a geographically remote part of the Sundarbans, where access to reliable medical facilities has remained a significant challenge for local communities. The establishment of the clinic aims to help bridge this rural healthcare gap by bringing essential medical services closer to the people who need them.
The primary vision behind the KF MUKTI Clinic is to provide modern, efficient and accessible healthcare support within the community. The clinic will focus on facilitating timely medical consultations, diagnostic services and preventive healthcare, particularly for vulnerable populations who may otherwise have to travel considerable distances to access medical care.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 50–60 local villagers. Around 15 members of MUKTI’s Core Committee and a dedicated 10-member MUKTI health team were also present and actively engaged with the community. The team introduced local residents to the proposed services of the clinic and shared information about its operational plans and healthcare facilities.
On the inaugural day, patients received consultations from one MBBS doctor and one Homeopathy doctor, who attended to community members and provided medical advice. The clinic also introduced its health card facility, with new beneficiaries successfully enrolled on the opening day, helping create a structured pathway for continued access to healthcare services.
The response from local residents was highly encouraging. Community members expressed their optimism about having a healthcare facility closer to home and highlighted how the clinic could reduce the need for difficult and time-consuming journeys to distant towns for basic medical treatment and consultation.
The inauguration of the KF MUKTI Clinic marks a meaningful milestone in MUKTI’s continued efforts to improve healthcare access in the Sundarbans. By bringing medical services closer to remote communities, the initiative seeks to contribute towards timely healthcare, preventive care and healthier, more resilient rural communities.
