Mukti Collaborates with Teach India Foundation to Strengthen Teacher Capacity

Mukti has partnered with the Teach India Foundation to enhance the professional skills and teaching capacities of educators associated with its community education programmes. As part of this collaboration, the first session of a seven-day Teacher Capacity Building Workshop was successfully conducted at Freemasons Hall, Park Street, Kolkata.

The workshop brought together around 40 teachers from different educational institutions, including six teachers from Mukti Kishalaya Support School (MKSS) and Mukti Support School (MSS) under the Mukti Urban Project. The programme marks the beginning of a two-month learning journey comprising four offline and three online sessions, designed to equip teachers with practical skills that enhance classroom learning and student engagement.

The inaugural session focused on the theme “Know Yourself Better,” encouraging participants to reflect on their personal strengths, areas for improvement, teaching styles, and professional aspirations through a series of interactive self-exploration activities. By fostering greater self-awareness, the workshop aims to help educators become more confident, reflective, and effective facilitators of learning.

Over the course of the programme, participants will receive training in key areas such as building meaningful connections with students, developing vision and goal-setting skills, designing effective lesson plans, implementing learner-centred teaching strategies, conducting assessments, and making informed educational decisions. The workshop seeks to nurture self-directed educators who can create engaging and inclusive learning environments for their students.

As part of this collaboration, representatives from the Teach India Foundation will also visit Mukti’s MKSS and MSS community-based coaching centres to assess learning gaps and provide need-based academic support. These visits will help strengthen classroom practices and improve learning outcomes for students studying at the centres.

The workshop is being conducted completely free of cost, making it a valuable opportunity for Mukti’s teachers to access high-quality professional development. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certificates in recognition of their learning and commitment.

Through this collaboration, Mukti continues to invest in strengthening the capacity of educators, recognising that empowered teachers play a vital role in improving the quality of education and creating meaningful learning experiences for children. By building the skills and confidence of teachers, the initiative aims to contribute to better educational outcomes and brighter futures for students across Mukti’s education programmes.
