In celebration of World Youth Skills Day, MUKTI SURYA Centre, Raidighi, organised a special programme on 15 July 2026 under the global theme, “Skills for a Shared Future.” The event aimed to promote the importance of skill development, career readiness, and sustainable livelihood opportunities among rural youth while recognising the achievements of trainees and inspiring the next generation of learners.
The programme was graced by Dr. Alok Jaldata, Mr. Rajani Kapat, and Mr. Manas Das, Skill Department Teacher of Raidighi High School, as the distinguished guests. They were warmly welcomed by the alumni of MUKTI SURYA with traditional uttoriyo and flower bouquets as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
A highlight of the celebration was the felicitation ceremony, where outstanding students of MUKTI SURYA were recognised for their dedication, perseverance, and excellence in skill development. The programme also honoured selected alumni who have successfully completed their training and established themselves in employment or sustainable livelihood opportunities. Their achievements stood as inspiring examples of how vocational education can transform lives and create pathways towards self-reliance.
The event was attended by several prospective students who are preparing to enrol in the upcoming training sessions. Addressing the participants, the distinguished guests spoke about the growing importance of vocational skills in today’s rapidly evolving world. They highlighted how skill-based education enhances employability, encourages entrepreneurship, fosters innovation, and enables young people to become financially independent while contributing meaningfully to society.
One of the most engaging segments of the programme was the alumni interaction session. Former trainees shared their personal journeys, reflecting on their learning experiences at MUKTI SURYA, the challenges they overcame, and how the knowledge and skills they acquired helped them secure employment or establish livelihood opportunities. Their stories inspired the aspiring trainees, demonstrating the real impact of skill development in building confidence, improving livelihoods, and shaping brighter futures.
The celebration successfully brought together current students, alumni, prospective trainees, educators, and community members in a shared commitment to empowering youth through skills. Aligned with the global theme “Skills for a Shared Future,” the programme reinforced the importance of equipping young people with practical knowledge and vocational competencies that prepare them for the future of work while contributing to inclusive and sustainable community development.
Through initiatives like MUKTI SURYA, Mukti continues to empower rural youth with industry-relevant skills, opening doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and economic independence. By investing in the potential of young people, the organisation remains committed to building resilient communities and creating opportunities for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
