The sponsor-student interaction between Mr. Dibyendu Bakshi and TSS student Rahul Shee was a heartwarming and inspiring session dated 17th May. Mrs. Kakali Bandyopadhyay, wife of Mr. Dibyendu Baksi, was also present during the interaction, making the meeting even more encouraging and meaningful for the student.
Mr. Dibyendu Bakshi, one of the TSS sponsors, associated with Mukti from 2025-26. He has been sponsoring Rahul Shee. Mr. Baksi is an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and a distinguished technology leader in Aerospace Systems Design, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), where he has been residing for nearly three decades.
Rahul, currently pursuing his 1st year BSc critical care technology studies at NRS Medical College, shared his academic journey, challenges, and aspirations. Coming from a financially struggling family in Gokulpur village of Purba Medinipur, Rahul expressed his deep gratitude for the support which he received through the Mukti Talented Students Sponsorship Programme. His father is a daily labourer with a limited annual income, yet Rahul continued his studies with determination and dedication.
During the discussion, Rahul mentioned that education is demanding, with continuous classes, practical sessions, and annual examinations which will be held in July. He also shared that he would begin internships during the 3rd year while continuing practical training at the same institution. Rahul expressed his passion that “the greatest satisfaction comes when a patient survives because of his treatment.” His words deeply touched everyone present.
Mr. Bakshi encouraged Rahul to stay confident, focused, and always open up whenever he faces academic or personal difficulties. He also motivated Rahul to “Pay It Forward” in the future by supporting other deserving students after becoming established in life.
The interaction beautifully reflected how scholarship is not only financial assistance but also emotional encouragement, mentorship, and hope for a brighter future. Such meaningful connections between sponsors and students inspire many others to come forward and support deserving talents in achieving their dreams.
