Teachers’ Training Strengthens Classroom Practices in Canning Circle

A teachers’ training programme under the Mukti Kishore Support School (MKSS) initiative was successfully conducted on 16th May 2026 at the MSS Office, bringing together 13 teachers from four centres under the Canning Circle. The training was organized with the objective of strengthening classroom teaching practices, enhancing teacher confidence, and improving the overall learning experience of students.

The session provided a platform for teachers to refresh their understanding of effective teaching methodologies and participate in a range of practical, activity-based learning exercises. Throughout the programme, participants actively engaged in demonstrations, chart preparation, lesson planning activities, and group discussions designed to promote interactive and student-centred teaching approaches.

One of the most encouraging outcomes of the training was the visible improvement in teacher participation and confidence. Compared to previous training sessions, participants demonstrated greater enthusiasm and preparedness during the feedback segment. Teachers confidently presented their ideas, shared classroom experiences, and showcased their learning through practical exercises, reflecting a growing commitment to continuous professional development.

The training also focused on important aspects of classroom management and student engagement. Detailed discussions were held on the responsibilities of teachers, positive classroom behaviour, and the do’s and don’ts of interacting with students. Emphasis was placed on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels encouraged to participate, learn, and grow.

To strengthen follow-up support and ensure effective implementation of the training outcomes, teachers were encouraged to regularly document and share photographs and videos of classroom activities through their respective Field Coordinators. This will help monitor the application of newly learned teaching methods and facilitate ongoing guidance and mentoring.

The programme concluded with an open feedback session, where participants shared suggestions for future training initiatives. A common recommendation was the inclusion of subject-wise and topic-specific discussions that would help teachers apply teaching methodologies more effectively across different subjects and grade levels. Participants felt that such focused sessions would further strengthen classroom instruction and improve learning outcomes for students.

The organizing team welcomed these suggestions and reiterated its commitment to supporting teachers through continuous learning opportunities. Future training programmes will aim to incorporate more practical, subject-based discussions while continuing to build teachers’ confidence, skills, and capacity to deliver quality education at the grassroots level.

By investing in teacher development, the MKSS programme continues to strengthen the foundation of quality education and create more engaging, inclusive, and effective learning environments for children across rural communities.
