Medha USA, a community-based nonprofit and subsidiary of Kallol of New Jersey, has long been dedicated to raising funds for grassroots educational development projects supporting underprivileged children. Originally founded as the Kallol Women’s Forum, the organization emerged from the collective compassion of the Bengali immigrant community, determined to uplift the less fortunate in their homeland. Over the years, Medha USA has expanded its mission to support educational initiatives both in India and the USA — proving that distance is no barrier to empathy or meaningful impact.
For over a decade, Medha USA has been one of steadfast partners, playing a transformative role in the journey of the Kids’ Centre and positively influencing the lives of countless underprivileged children and families in the heart of South Kolkata.
This year, Children’s Day was celebrated at the Kids’ Centre with great joy and enthusiasm. The entire space buzzed with laughter, excitement, and a festive atmosphere as children gathered to make the day truly special.
A delicious lunch was arranged with generous support from Medha USA, which included egg fried rice, chicken Manchurian, egg devil and sweets — dishes the children thoroughly enjoyed. To make the celebration even more delightful, the centre also organized additional treats. The festivities began with mouth-watering phuchkas, followed by the lunch packets, and finally ice cream, bringing bright smiles to every child’s face.
The celebration was truly memorable, ensuring that the children felt happy, valued, and cared for on their special day. Their joy was visible as they shared meals, interacted with friends, and took part in the cheerful activities. The thoughtfully arranged food and warm environment created a sense of togetherness, strengthening each child’s bond with the centre.
The day concluded with heartfelt smiles and cherished memories — a reminder of the meaningful impact that partnerships like Medha USA’s continue to create in the lives of these children.
