On 19th November, a four-member delegation from Children International (CI) visited the Mukti Child Project office to review ongoing activities and engage with key stakeholders. The visiting team included Mr. Matt (Global Operations Director), Ms. Liz (Regional Director – Asia & Africa), Ms. Kirtimayee Mishra (India Operations Director), and Ms. Arpita (Partnership Management Officer). From Mukti, President Mr. Sankar Halder, Secretary Mr. Satyajit Roy, and Program Director Ms. Ankita Kothiyal were present to welcome the guests and participate in the discussions.
The visit began at 2:00 PM with an interactive session between the CI representatives and the Session Facilitators. The facilitators shared their experiences from the past seven months of implementing the curriculum and extracurricular modules across the centres. They also discussed the challenges encountered in the field, the strategies adopted to address them, and the key insights that have strengthened their engagement with children and caregivers.
Following this interaction, the delegation joined an ongoing caregivers’ meeting, where they had the opportunity to hear directly from caregivers about their expectations, observations, and experiences with the programme. The exchange offered valuable perspectives on how the project is impacting families and where further support could enhance outcomes.
The CI team then visited three parallel sessions being conducted for different age groups—
• the 10–14 years learning session,
• the 6–9 years Count and Match (skip counting) session, and
• the 15–18 years Book Club discussion.
They observed the teaching–learning processes, student participation, and the creative methods used by facilitators to ensure interactive and meaningful learning.
The visit concluded with encouraging notes from the CI team, acknowledging the commitment of Mukti’s facilitators and the steady progress of the Child Project. Their observations and feedback will contribute to strengthening programme delivery and enhancing the learning environment across the centres.
This constructive visit reaffirmed the shared mission of CI and Mukti to create positive, long-term impact in the lives of children and their families.
