In a collective effort to promote environmental sustainability and beautify rural roads, a plantation drive was carried out along the Shipur–Burigumti road under Sahara Gram Panchayat, Block Egra-I, Purba Medinipur. Covering approximately one kilometre, the initiative included the plantation of coconut saplings and a variety of flowering plants along the roadside.
The event witnessed the active participation of local community members and well-wishers, marking another step towards creating greener and more climate-resilient villages. Among the dignitaries present were the village Deputy Head, Mr. Uttam Jana, noted social worker and tree enthusiast Mr. Shibabrata Das, and Mukti Sakhi members Mr. Subrata Jana, Mr. Tapas Sau, and Mr. Ritish Syamal. Representing Mukti, Dr. Ramjiban Maity graced the occasion and extended his appreciation to all participants for their dedication to environmental stewardship.
