In the wake of the recent deluge that inundated Kolkata and its neighbouring areas, Mukti extended urgent support to flood-affected families in Garia. The torrential rains in late September caused severe waterlogging across several low-lying localities, submerging homes, damaging belongings, and leaving hundreds of slum-dwelling families stranded without access to basic necessities. In some pockets of Garia, the floodwaters remained for days, forcing residents to take shelter in temporary spaces as their homes and daily livelihoods were washed away.
On 27th September 2025, Mukti organised a relief distribution drive at the Mukti City Office in Kolkata, bringing timely assistance to 100 affected families struggling to recover from the disaster. Each family received food items, essential medicines, ORS packets, phenyl, and mosquito repellent sticks—critical supplies in the aftermath of floods when food insecurity, health risks, and sanitation challenges become pressing concerns.
Through this initiative, Mukti reaffirmed its commitment to stand beside vulnerable communities in times of crisis—ensuring that immediate needs are met and that families do not feel abandoned in their struggle for recovery.
